The Business Information Coalition (BIC) is a collective of small, medium and large companies that provide business information and intelligence to thousands of U.S. companies for use in their business-to-business (B2B) sales, marketing and recruitment operations.
Operating as a 501(c)6, our members have come together to advocate for strong consumer protections that safeguard the personal data of individuals without having unintended consequences on the economy.
We recognize that not all personal data poses the same level of risk. Professional information about companies and the decision makers within them is intended to be public and shared every day for business purposes. It is far less sensitive than an individual’s home address, account details, health information or religious beliefs and therefore should not be included in legislation designed to protect consumers’ sensitive information from misuse or harm.
